LE 15 SEPTEMBRE

The Eiffel Tower was designed and constructed as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair in Paris. This massive iron lattice structure is one of the most visited monuments in the world.

This piece was commissioned by my client as a surprise anniversary gift for his wife of two years. They honeymooned in Paris. When he approached me with the idea of a mosaic portraying the Eiffel Tower I was intrigued. I considered, for several weeks, the best perspective for depicting this iconic symbol of all things Parisian and how to capture the beauty and romanticism of this structure while still conveying a sense of intimacy. As viewed from the balcony of a room, the Tower and the Seine appear illuminated by the setting sun.

Joyeux Anniversaire!
